Get Slack

Hi everybody,

This is my first post.I have just installed Fedora core5 from cd's i bought on ebay.It seems to be running fine. But i was thinking about downloading slackware to run on a different drive.I noticed that there is a seperate download directory for iso images, and i have never downloaded an entire distro before,so i am not sure how to put it together too boot from a cd.If anyone has any advice i would appreciate it

Thank's

1. download the iso image
2. burn the iso image
3. boot the CD

Make sure that when you burn the images to CD that you select the "burn image" option in whatever software you're using. Do not burn them as regular files, as the CDs won't be bootable.

Also note that you only need the first 2 discs, not all 4. 3rd and 4th disc only contain source codes of slack. You don't even need the 2nd disc if your not installing KDE but in your case I'll assume you will :)

I was going to say, I thought slack was the one major distro that still only requires one disk. What's Fedora now? Five?

five-O

Thank's

Yes,I have 5 disk's for fedora core 5,with a standard install and office suite.I only had to use the first 2 disk's.Being new to fedora I only wanted the minimal amount.I think disk#1 did about 3 quarters of the install and disk#2 did about 1 quarter.
