Gentoo: GDM issue.

I just recently got help on here concerning getting my gentoo system to boot to the command line. the rc-update that was suggested to me work as it needed to. i now have another issue which i would like to see if there is a solution for.

if i sign into my day to day account through the command line, and try to reach gnome by useing the "gdm" command, and am presented with this statement.

"only root wants to run gdm"

how would i get gdm to execute outside of root?

Editing....

Edit the file:
/etc/rc.conf

down at the bottom.
Select displaymanager=Gnome
or whatever.
