General Tips.. how I love them

Yo, linux newbie here. I just got an old Gateway2000 with Intel Pentium Pro processor set up with debian linux, by way of knoppix. I don't know much more than how to log on, use the KDE, and update my packages. Mostly I'm looking to experiment, but I don't really know where to start. I just want to learn the most I can about Linux. Any general tips for newbies are really appreciated

Hi

Learn about linux... Let's see, you could take the tutorial over at linux.org (linux 101). Other things include just takin a piece of software (maybe a server? Something like Apache or a mail server?) and just getting it going. You can search for software at www.freshmeat.net

Cool

The way I learned (still learning) is by using Linux on a day-to-day basis. When I started with Linux, I completely removed my windows install, and I haven't looked back. It's been a fun ride so far and I am fascinated by linux more and more each day.

Good luck and Have fun!
