General stuff

Hey there.
as i mentioned, im an ultra newbie ^_^.
I just installed Linux for the first time, i picked SUSE 9.2.
I'd like to know some basic stuff like:

Where can i download programs from?
How do i install them?
Which sites can provide me with some useful updates and info about Linux? (distrowatch for i.e)
and stuff like that.
I'd be really glad to get some nice guides, or just get some basic help here, cause now when i finally set up my connection, i want start working with it.

you must set it up so that it point to remote sites that contains loads of software
