geforce and you

is it true that geforce cards and linux aren't compatible?

Not at all. Actually NVidia has Linux specific drivers for the GeForce and it's other cards. my GeForce 2 MX runs like a champ.

yeah.. all distro's are basically the same consisting of the same software running it. its just some might have proprietary software of their own, or might have updated drivers that others might not. in the geforce case, you shouldn't worry about what version of linux you have and compatibility, in this case it would be xfree86.. which is X.. etc.. and if its compatible or not on whatever version you have.

Download the drivers from this site

You'll be amazed to see how great gefroce would work after installeing the nvidia drivers.

I run a GFII ultra and Suse appears to hate it. Normally get stuck at 800x600 (rather than the 1600x1200 I actually want) and all attempts to reset this once the install has finished have ended in failure (actually I lie, an older version of Suse once reset for no reason I could discern to the res I actually wanted, but I have never been able to replicate it since).

Redhat is a breeze though.
