GeForce 4?
Is there any version of Linux that will work with a GeForce 4 4400? Or is there some generic driver I can choose during installation to make it work with the gui? Thanks. I just saw on Red Hat's web sight something about using the VESA driver to bypass this problem. Does 7.2 have this VESA driver?

The nvidia web site has a download for a Linux driver.

Yes, but all I can get is a bash prompt. I am clueless as to what to do then. startx doesn't work.

Something is wrong with your XFree configuration then I guess. What errors are you getting when you try to start X?

I'll have to try it again tonight to get an exact answer to that. I'm at work right now.

Mine works
I have a g4 ti 4400 by Leadtek which I just put in my machine last week. It runs fine. I did have trouble with an MSI g4 ti4400, but windows was also having problems with that card. I didn't do anything special to get the card to work. I made sure I had the latest nvidia drivers (2960) installed and working properly with my g2 card. Than all I did was swap cards after powering down. It came up beautifully upon restart and I have to say that I love it.
