gdm Timed Login causes username/password field deselect on keystroke

I am experiencing very odd behavior with RHEL 7.1 when using Timed login with gdm. What happens is upon startup you will see your user list with a timer bar counting down until it automatically logs you in. That works fine.

The problem is when you attempt to bypass that and login as someone else. While typing your username in the username field you click on the field and after each keystroke the field deselects requiring you to click on it again. The password field is the same way. This is incredibly annoying and very likely fixable.

I've troubleshot it down by installing a no frills fresh RHEL7.1 install with GUI and narrowed it down to 3 lines in the /etc/gdm/custom.conf file.

I've seen this behavior on both my virtual machines and hardware any thoughts?

Isn't this a question for RHEL tech support? You are paying for license, you are entitled for help.

That's true however due to the contract I'm working under I don't have access to the subscription... it's a pain.
