GDM for Suse 10
Been trying to figure out how to change the background of the graphical greeter(GDM) for Suse 10. Could someone pls point me in the right direction on doing this? I have looked through the Gnome control center, I ran through Yast, and googled till I just can't google anymore. Any assistance would be appreciated. I need some eyecandy when logging in the default screen is killin me just looking at it.

You need to run "gdmsetup" or find a menu entry that says "Configure Login Manager". There are options there to install new themes or change them.

Thanks for the solution. I had to log out and go back in as root to run the command gdmsetup. I tried to sudo and "su"-ing but I guess the command was not part of my path? Is this correct?

On my Gentoo system its in /usr/sbin so you would need to use "su -" so that you inherit all of roots path which you won't do if you use "su". You can also configure gdm from the login screen (depending on whether the option is enabled).
