gconf error: failed to contact configuration server;
RHEL 5.10
hello , when i changed permetions of /tmp to 777 then i made ne directory ntmp and i exported it as a tmp , export TMPDIR=/ntmp
export TMP=/ntmp "on user session not the root"and i rebooted the machine , then i found error when i loged on with root :
gconf error: failed to contact configuration server;some possible causes are that you to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or have stale NFS locks due a system crash. details ior file /tmp/gconfd-root/lock/ior not opened successfully, no gconfd located: no such file or directory

You've not ever followed up on your other two threads, started over the past four years. As you were told before, RHEL 5.10 is a commercial, PAY FOR distribution...are you PAYING FOR IT??? And at this point, RHEL 5.10 is so old it is totally unsupported.
And what you've posted above has no context at all...are you saying your system won't boot? Does boot, but doesn't work?? GUI won't load? What???? The two things you posted aren't connected at all, and you haven't told us anything about what actual PROBLEM(S) you're having.
