gcc problem when compiling many games

I just had another thought.
This user that cannot compile the server's home is in /muds/hunt/<username> and the other's is in /home/<username>.
Would that make a difference?
And it is not just this compilation script that raises errors, as I found out, but another script as well.
A final question: Is there some way to set permissions or other flags that might affect this with the adduser command?

Oh my gosh, I feel like an idiot.
*smacks self*
I just had the thought to check the pam limits on this user, and he was only allowed to open 5 files at a time... which is less than this script needed.
So, I updated the value to 30, and... bam! It worked.
Again, thanks for your more than helpful responses, even though I was the one who didn't tell you the important info
