gcc or similar compiler needed.
 

I am looking for a nice easy to install a compiler on my
redhat 8 machine. I would like something that is easy
to install and requires as few other package dependencies
as possible. Thanks.:confused: :confused:

just install gcc from your distro cd's. it's sitting there waitingn for you...

you don't get a choice in it i'm afraid, you need gcc and everythign that it requires.

If dependencies are a problem in general, try installing apt-get.

Can I ask acid if he means the installaton cd's ?? as I only
received source code/docs/multimedia/installation cd's with
the server.

yeah the install discs... it *will* be on cd 1.

acid_kewpie I have looked on my disc one, but alas no easy to identify gcc or c compiler icon...... Can you elaborate ?
