gcc installation
I have installed linux mandrake 10.0 yesterday and im TOTAL Newbie on this... i have tried to install several programs but it seems to need some c compiler so i looked some forums and i downloaded gcc 3.4.2 now i have to problem to install it.
when i try to ./configure i get message:
./configure: line 2332: cc: command not found
*** The command 'cc -o conftest -g conftest.c' failed.
*** You must set the environment variable CC to a working compiler.
[root@Allah gcc-3.4.2]#
or if i try to make install:
make: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop.

try
urpmi gcc
urpmi g++
in the console as root

that works i think but it ask Installion CD 1
Riippuvuuksien täyttämiseksi seuraavat paketit asennetaan (20 Mt):
gcc-3.3.2-6mdk.i586
glibc-devel-2.3.3-10mdk.i586
Sopiiko tämä? (K/e) k
umount: /mnt/cdrom: laite on varattu
umount: /mnt/cdrom: laite on varattu
eject: unmount of `/dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd' failed
Aseta media nimeltään "Installation CD 1 (x86) " laitteeseen [/dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd]
Paina Enter kun olet valmis...
umount: /mnt/cdrom: laite on varattu

my friend computer with windows cd works fine and other than linux cds works with me???

now i get ./configure works but make install got some problems:

check whether you've got gcc3.4.2.... and if not go to rpmfind.net
and get it :+
Next time please put some english outputs instead of Finnish (???) in your posts
