gcc command


the gcc command in not working for me.. it says 'command not found'.
any suggestions?

Yeah, you need all the development tools installed. Run your setup tool and install them.

Or, it could be that you have them installed already but the commands are not in your PATH.

so either

1) use 'locate' to make sure gcc does exist in your system. If they exist, it is your PATH problem

2) 'rpm -q gcc' to see if it is installed or not. If not, get the rpm's and install them (Only if you are using FC or distro that supports rpm)

Wouldn't get very far without /usr/bin in his path...
