games some work some don't.
Hello I'm real new to Linux mint 17 and I was wondering why some games work and some don't. Are they for different operating systems? The games that do work are really good so far. And also what should I do if the operating system hangs up just turn off the computer or is there something else I should do?:hattip::newbie:

Hardware Info?
Which version of Mint? 32 or 64Bit? What games are started? |
I have the 32 bit version I also have an nvidia video card with 1gb of memory. I was trying to play a game called Nexus but it did not work I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it started working to a point anyway.
I was also online and the computer froze up on me I was not sure what to do I just turned it off and back on again is there something else I should do? |
I have the 32 bit Mint 17 and an nvidia video card with 1gb of memory. It was the Nexuiz game I was having issues with.I also had problems with World of Tanks I got an error message just as it started to download. It wanted me to retry but I never could get the download finished.

The propriatary nvidia driver is installed?
|
It appears to be I have the disk that came with the video card but not sure if it works with the Linux mint. It seams when I installed the mint operating system it found it's own drivers for the video card.

Hi.
Pick Operating System: Linux 32-bit, then reed up on sudo, installers.sh and so on... You may need more RAM,,, etc? :( Can you get to Nexus's video options? The second link in my signature may help? Best wishes and have fun. :) |

Linux Mint does come with drivers for NVIDIA cards, however, the driver installed by default may be the open source one nad not the proprietary one from NVIDIA which is generally better. You should be able to install the non-free driver from an application called something like "Additional Drivers". |
