games have stopped running

Ok technically this would be a gaming related post but since it's not specific to one game i am posting it here. Seems to be a proper problem with my install now.

I have the latest drivers installed from ati, everything worked fine recently but now suddenly no games will run. I can access the Catalyst control centre, so it's not like my drivers got accidentally removed.

i get this error via terminal on any game i try to run, warsow, 0 a.d. etc

I am thinking somehow a certain library i needed got removed?

Assuming Ubuntu (you don't say), libGL.so.1 is provided by your graphics driver. Try upgrading / un-and-reinstalling your drivers.

Well it all depends on the way you installed the drivers. If you installed them from the ATI/AMD website, uninstall those and install the fglrx drivers that come with Ubuntu. If you got the fglrx drivers uninstall those and try the ones from the ATI/AMD website. If these do not work look for the open source drivers. This is my best advice to you because if it an OpenGL problem, then that is a graphics issue.
