Games


Hello, i am new to Linux, so i have installed the Mepis Linux, in my laptop.

It is great, but i have some problems.

1-My laptop, has Infrared, that i used to use with my Nokia 6600, and now i cant do anything with it.

2-When i plug in my 8 in 1 card reader, the linux says that it is plugd, but i cant, see anithing. (I now how to mount tha Floppy, and cd drives)

3-Is it possible to play games that i have for Win, in Linux? I am desperate.

PS- I dont now how to work with the console. I sow this tutorial here but i dont understand nothing:

It is possible to play some windows/dos games in linux. There's a program called Winex made by TransGaming Technologies that allows a good number of windows games to run through linux without emulation, which normally makes things slow way down. Instead they've created their own copy's of the windows files that games normally interact with, for example the direct X libraries. It's not perfect, but it does work. I've not tried it on my own computer yet, but I intend to when I'm more confident I can install it properly.

Something else I have been trying is called dosbox and according to the lists it runs a huge number of dos games. There's also dosemu, but I haven't managed to install that yet...
