galeon crashes at yahoo mail sign-in
As soon as I click into the Yahoo! ID: box, galeon freezes hard and has to be killed. I see that Galeon is gnome and mozilla based, they are mostly installed on the system, but I am not running gnome cause it's a p233mmx and I'm trying to keep things light. I've been using icewm but am willing to try other light options if that will help me get a funtioning browser. Mozilla is just too slow running, galeon is just acceptable.
I've been reading about wm's and browsers, just not sure where to go to get this thing working at a passable speed. I don't need every internet whizbang to work, just the ability to read news, go to email, bank and commercial sites. At this point, I figure I could probably switch to a "harder" distro, I've dinked around enough, I think I could find my way through a harder install. Any suggestions that will get the speed of this thing up are welcome. Thanks, Joel |
Try using Firebird which is a lightweight mozilla type browser as well and you can get it from www.mozilla.org
Its easy to install and is very lightweight. Galeon when I used it was great but seemed it just crashed way to often on me as well. |
Hey thanks, firebird seems to be all I want at this stage.
Now to figure out all the other things that are slowing me down. I've stumbled across so many options as I search here and google, I switch between reading like crazy and doing a bunch of trial & error stuff. Slow progress so far. - Joel |
