gaim, mozilla, etc crash -- problem with cairo?

Hello,

I'm running SUSE 10.0 with KDE.

Anyway, my main problem is with Gaim. When I try to open it (thru Konsole) I get this message:

"linux:~ # gaim

gaim: symbol lookup error: /opt/gnome/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: cairo_xlib_surface_create"

Also, Mozilla, Thunderbird, and Firefox are all very unstable and sometimes won't even open (otherwise they crash shortly after opening).
Trying to start Firefox in Konsole, I get this message:
"/opt/MozillaFirefox/lib/firefox-bin: symbol lookup error: /opt/gnome/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: cairo_xlib_surface_create"

It leads me to believe there's a problem with Cairo. I have tried updating Cairo through YaST, but this has not made any difference.

If there is any other information I should provide, please let me know. Thank you for any advice/assistance!

Anyone have any advice...? This really has me stumped. :/ It's making things very frustrating, since I don't like using Kopete for instant messaging but can't see any other good choices ...

The libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0 library is part of the gtk2 package.
Are you sure you have the right version of gtk2 to work with the gaim version?
See what is the output of
ldd gaim
