gaim


when i try to sign on with my msn account( ive added the plugin) it says authentication failed. ive tried lots of things anybody know why it is doing this?

wrong passwords normally... you are using the right protocol for each account i take it? and using the newest version? 0.64 i think is the newest.

That's odd... Well, just to make sure:

Screen name = <your e-mail adress>
Password = <your password>
Alias = <any alias you choose>

Many peoples mix up the screen name with alias...

I have the same prob with gaim in red hat 8.0 and my password right.

I cannot think about anything helpful, but... Try to delete de folder ./gaim from your /home directory and run gaim again. It will "re-create" a new gaim profile. Well, that's what I do with programs that does not work properly, I always delete the ./<file name> and see what happens...

This might sound overly simplistic but when I had a similar problem I discovered I had not completed some of the needed info, i.e., the complete email address: whoever@hotmail.com or whoever@msn.com
