Fun GPS/USB question
Hey all. i have a Haicom HI-305II (compact flash) GPS receiver that I put into a USB compact flash reader. I run the lsusb command to find out if it sees it and I get this:
[root@localhost dev]# lsusb
Bus 005 Device 003: ID 1058:0701 Western Digital Technologies, Inc.
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 413c:8103 Dell Computer Corp. Wireless 350 Bluetooth
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 061: ID 05e3:0700 Genesys Logic, Inc. SIIG US2256 CompactFlash Card Reader
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
so it says it's Bus 001 Device 061. Using Fedora Core 7. So my question is, how do I figure out which device (USB port) to use for the GPSD program? Here's the command it tells me to check it with (x's are replaced by the device):
stty -F /dev/ttyXXX ispeed 4800 && cat </dev/ttyXXX
can anyone shed some light on this one? Thanks again.
