then WHAT desktop did you install
if you are on a headless server then you can not use filezilla it is a gtk program and needs gtk installed

whatever your desktop IT IS in that menu

or open a terminal ( that too is in the menu ) and type in
Code:
filezilla

if you do not have a GUI installed how do you expect to use a GUI program that needs gtk and gnome

for the terminal ONLY use the allready installed by default " ftp "

also if this ( guessing windows 7 host) running cent on a vb VM is a laptop and you are on a wireless connection
you will be unable to use the wireless

you could try reading the "How to's "
on the cent wiki
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos
-- ftp --
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Chroot...n-system_users

I am assuming that this is the current CentOS 6.2
first why did you not install the desktop when you installed cent on this UNNAMED and UNKNOWN host running VirtualBox
pop in the dvd and install the desktop .You can do that with the "upgrade" option on the install dvd

or

in the terminal ( you have no desktop so everything is the terminal
login as root ( this is fine in the text ONLY mode) and run
Code:
yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop Environment"
