[SOLVED] ftp software

Hi, I've used cuteftp in Windows but it's not available for Linux apparently. There seems to be a bewildering array of similar ones for Linux - can anyone please recommend a good one for a newbie? Thanks, Bug

There are several.
Take a look at proftpd or vsftpd for servers
gftp is a good ftp client

I assume you are looking for a gui ftp client.

Take a look here: Good GUI ftp clients

Chapter 2 holds the none gui clients.

Thanks again. gftp was the first one I tried and it worked absolutely fine - just downloaded a massive website - took 2 hours over my slowish network and all fine.
