FTP Question. Setup from SSH command line

A little about my system. It is running 8.1 suse. I want to set up an FTP. I have an SSH connection to my box right now.

Do you know of an already installed FTP prgm on this flavor of linux and do you know of any good sites i can go to to config this?

I believe i have VSFTPD

ALso is there a good site on where i can find a good list of commands and different prgms. Such is a command line text editor?

Have you installed vsftpd?

If so you need to edit the config file to suit your needs and start the service.

How far have you got?

Just figured it out and got it up and running. Now just to figure out how to kill certain logins from being able to FTP into this.

Take a look at the "userlist" values in vsftpd.conf. For more info:
man vsftpd.conf
