FTP from Linux Rescue

Is there a way to FTP to a server and upload the files I need to save from my non-booting updated install so I can reinstall Fedora? I can access my drives through Linux Rescue but the box won't boot up. Up2date fouled something up. I need my whole home directory. Step by step would be helpful.

Burn a liveCD like knoppix, and mount the drive/copy it to your server with gftp.
