ftp configuration and inq.
Hello everybody,
Working on setting up ftp.. i think, i successfully installed vsftpd(according to doc. from this site, its a ftp server). tested from a different pc and it seem to be working.. it displayed the pub directory.. created a file and did another test and the file i created in the pub folder is there.. so ftp is working.. Q1.searched for a way to configure ftp server and just wondering is there a gui way to configure this if not wahts the best way for a new linux person to configure the various optoins like port and access rights and setting dir.. Q2. found on this site the following: Rpm –qa|grep ftp Lftp-2.6.3-3 Gftp-2.0.14-2 ftp-0.17-17 fsftod-1.1.3-8 - does this mean that i have more then 1 ftp servers running? can comeone explain the above list.. thanks Robin |
How did you install the vsftpd server. If you tried to install the rpm then it didn;t work. All that you see there are ftp clients.
If you used the rpm then I would try again. |
