Also, does any of these have like a "auto" mode so I don't have to change modes manually ? lol or is this asking too much?

rshaw 07-15-2004 01:36 PM

yep, point-click choose directory to save in, etc.

For transferring (binary ,ASCII mode) ?

rshaw 07-15-2004 01:51 PM

yep

OK, think I am a bit "lost" here .....I want to be able to open the program up , set something to "auto" detect mode for binary ,ASCII so that I don't have to fool with it again..?

Kbear comes preinstalled in suse 9.1... its not the best, but gets the job done.

right, open it, connect to the ftp site, choose file and download it, it will take care of the details for you

I'm trying to use gFTP also, however my issue is that when i try to download something i have to select the actual files manually. Is it possible to be able to grab a directory from the remote window, drag it the the local folder and then it adds all the files that are in any directories inside that folder??? As when i drag and drop it only seems to make a directory and i have to then go into the folder and do all the files manually?? I've looked around in the options but am unable to find anything about it??

Help me please :)
