from GUI to text mode?


I installed Red Hat 7.3 and chose for boot in Graphic mode during installation, instead of text mode.

I can't figure out how to close the desktop environments and get into text mode.

How to do this?

as root type type init 3
vi /etc/inittab
change default init to 3

Thanks pickledbeans, that was what I was looking for!

doublefailure, this ctrl-alt-f1 ctrl-alt-f2
trick will come in handy as well!
