I have installed RedHat9 server and I have choosen x windows package, but after installation linux started in console mode. Is there any command to start x windows from console mode?

'startx' usually does the trick

As Poetics said "startx" works......
And to make this setting permanent i.e for everytime being looged into graphical mode, edit your /etc/inittab file.
Checkout in that file for "init" options. There are 6 options for that

e.g
0 -> for shuting down the system
6 -> for rebooting the system

now one entry will be there ( probably 5 ) for graphical mode.

just below these options there will be default setting for the "init" options
since your machine is entring into console so it should be '3'. Make it 4/5 according to your distribution...
