Wink from a Newbie to Newbies

I am a newbie to the use of Linux (meaning i don't know how to use it yet). I came here to see what i could find out before i decided on a distro and to get any and all Documentation for installing. I found that Red Hat and Mandrake are very widely known distro's but Slackware although not as well known is better for us Newbie's. I did alot of reading and searching so that is how i came up with this conclusion. Here is a great place to find out about distro's-- DistroWatch.
You can do as i did and read about many of the distro's or you can take my word for it . You can also go here--Google
and just do some searching and a whole lotta reading.
If you decide on going with Slackware then here are the 2 install CD's addy.
Slackware Install cd1
Slackware Install cd2
Here is the Install Walkthrough that i advise reading before you install.-- Slackware Install Book
Please read through this to the end and you will have alot less trouble. I tried to print the pages but the format in which it is written cut's of some of the information. I am modifying it to suit me lol (now you know why i chose Linux hehe ) It has alot of pic's to help along the way.
If anyone here can provide additional links for i believe the other 2 cd's please do. I found all of this information from here either directly or indirectly but the great peeps here are the ones whom i owe the credit. I was going to try Red Hat 9 but as you may have guessed now Slackware is a much better choice.

Mandrake 9.1 was fairly easy to set up. I am a newbie too.
