FRM extension, what does it mean??

We have a small problem in our server. It seems that the list of the names of the teachers in our school posted in our web page, are stored in a filed with a *.frm extension. We're new with this server and we were asking around and consulting with other Linux experts but the case still seems open. I know that FRM is an extension that uses VB and Delphi to store it's form information but in Linux what does it mean, and how can I edit it. I've already tried every text editor and nothing. I think it's some sort of database extension, but that's all, please help, and thanks !!!!!!!!
