E: Unable to locate package nvidia-detect
mint@mint ~ $ inxi -xG
Graphics:  Card: NVIDIA C61 [GeForce 6150SE nForce 430] bus-ID: 00:0d.0

Mint 13 is outdated, and no longer supported. Try Mint 17.

does it work or not?

Linux Mint 13 will be supported until April, 2017.

http://www.linuxmint.com/oldreleases.php

You should have an Additional Drivers option under System Settings, System or Control Center. If it is just on boot, go to the /etc/default/grub file and uncomment the line below:

Code:

#GRUB_GFXMODE=640x480
