Freezes with Madwifi in AP mode in openSUSE 11.0

I've recently gotten my wireless working.

However:

Every so often, my system completely locks, stops responding to anything whatsoever. If I connect a monitor to it, I get a black screen.

There are no freezes if I don't run hostapd or madwifi.

What should I do to attempt to debug this further? I don't fully know my way around Linux, so I don't now where to find log files or anything to tell me why it freezes.

Well for starters you can try
Code:
tail -f | dmesg
this will output the last lines from the kernel or you can check the syslog
Code:
cat /var/log/syslog
I would start by troubleshooting madwifi and the drivers used. Try this link to see if it is of any use. http://www.fsf.org/resources/hw/net/wireless/cards.html

That website's for the newer Ath5k driver, which doesn't support AP mode yet. I'm using the older Madwifi drivers. My chipset is an Atheros 5212, which is fully supported by Madwifi.

cat: /var/log/syslog: No such file or directory

You can DL the full output of dmesg directly from the machine I'm troubleshooting here:

Not at this very second. I don't have much expierence with mad wifi. Normally I just try and use adapters where I can use a native linux driver.
