freeRADIUS


Anyone very familiar with freeRADIUS running on Ubuntu Breezy Badger?

Baaad idea. Ubuntu is mostly a desktop distro. It gives a great, responsive and fast dt, but is too bloated for a RADIUS server...
Try Slack or Gentoo.

Any Linux distribution can be used as a server. If any system is setup as a server, do not run GUI on it or else it will be sluggish.
