Freenas ftp errors

Hi

I have configured a freenas 0.7.1 on an Intel d945gclf motherboard and is working perfectly well for ftp, http, smb, and rsync locally. I am getting authentication error when I try to ftp to the server from the Internet through a static ip on an mtnl mumbai dsl connection. Any idea if how to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

regards

Welcome to LQ, hope you like it here.

It would be good to post usable information like what application produces the error, the actual error message, you checking if you can access the host on that port using ping and traceroute (or better: tcptraceroute or hping ports TCP/20, TCP/21), any logged messages from the firewall or FTP daemon, what FTP daemon you use and its configuration.

Thanks for the suggestion I had to configure ftp without chroot for all users and now the ftp access to all the users on Lan as wellas Wan is possible.
