hello, I wanted know about some bootable linux os which can remove viruses from Pendrives and can run virus scan in computers. this will help me in clearing viruses which comes through other pendrives.

What do you mean by "viruses" in this context?

I have used a few USB flash drives that have something I consider a very nasty misfeature that acts a lot like a virus.

As soon a Windows recognizes the USB device it automatically downloads and installs some annoying software from the manufacturer of the flash drive and automatically writes to the flash drive some code that will launch that software every subsequent time you insert the flash drive.

I forget how you can turn off that first nasty behavior in Windows (I've done it, but not recently) so a flash device that doesn't have the second stage of that problem can be inserted without auto installing that second stage.

Any Linux system than can use flash drives at all (which is pretty much any Linux system) can see and remove the problem code that was installed on the flash drive (it isn't hidden from Linux at all). But that does you no good if Windows is still set to a default behavior that reinstalls that crap to your flash drive every time you insert it.

But if you mean real Windows viruses, I don't know much about any Linux programs for scanning for Windows viruses. It would be a useful tool because it is so much easier to customize a Linux boot CD than to customize a Windows boot CD.

If you can't find any, look at "Ultimate Boot CD for Windows". Because of the licensing complications, it is much harder to make and use that CD than a Linux bootable CD, but it can be done and its standard configuration includes Windows virus scanners. It is an important tool for anyone doing software repair / cleanup on sick Windows systems.
