I found the culprit: virtual desktop.

I changed the resolution on that only and then the same thing (after I had re-installed) happened.

I won't re-install again, I'm going to LiBug this sucker.

To clear it up, in "/etc/X11/" I have the following files (related to XFree):


How do I reset my virtual desktop settings?

Oh snap. Neal did it. Neal feels good. Neal feels oh so very good.

I'm no longer a Lirgin (Linux virgin)....I just debugged my first thing!
