FPDMA error

What is the FPDMA used for in Ubuntu? Mine keeps crashing on my laptop and I have to keep either reinstalling the OS or booting in recovery mode.
Thank you.

Can you please post the output of your syslog file and /proc/kmsg?

You don't give us any details about your laptop or what error(s) you're seeing, or version of Ubuntu, so it's hard to give any real answers. However, it appears to be a bug in Ubuntu:

Is this a new laptop? Drive? Did you have Ubuntu on it before? A different distro may solve your problem, too...Mint might be a good thing to try.

Yes, as TBOne said you didn't give us any details about your laptop, Ubuntu version and about errors. And it seems to be a bug that's why I asked you for output of syslog and /proc/kmsg details.

So please provide us the above details.
