Formatting SD Card FAT32 in Fedora Core 4

I have a 1GB and a 2GB Secure Digital card that are formatted FAT16 from the manufacturer that I want to format as FAT32. When I insert the card, a folder called "/media/SD_Card" is automatically created, and I can mount the card using the command "mount /media/SD_Card" and access the contents of the card with no problems.

However. What I don't know how to do is to format the card. I assume I will need to use the command "mkfs -t vfat" with some parameters, but I don't know what those parameters are and how to figure them out.

Any suggestions?

use "mount" to find the device entry for that mount point, it'll probably be /dev/sda1 or something. that is your parameter to mkfs. persaonlly i never seem to have any luck formatting to vfat, i always end up resorting to windows to do it.
