Formatting a flash drive
QUESTION:
In Ubuntu ...
How do I format the flash drive and utterly wipe out any software partitions or whatever that are on it from the manufacturer ?
BACKGROUND:
I have this 8Gig SanDisk that I want to use for archiving files, and it comes with some secutity/encryption files on it for windows. I don't want those files and I don't want any partitions that they created for security that they did not tell me about.
Also:
Should I need to for security purposes, will refomatting also obliterate beyond recovery anything I need to get rid of, and would that include malware?
