Formating ISSUES

Im formating a 50 gig partition using the Slackware 11 to format it.

using the process; Format with Checking for bad blocks using reiserfs, its been nearly a day an a half, does it ever normaly take this long to format or is it just frozenin up?

Seems long to me ... If I were you, I would already have killed the process to retry (I never tried with ReiserFS, but it's much faster with ext3, which is also journalized)

I have alrdy killed, gunna hope for the best again ;P

How long should this process usualy take?

I would say less than 1 hour, but I might be optimistic ... For ext3 on a 30 Gb partition, it took less than 10 minutes ...

Reiserfs should be formatted just as quick as ext2/3. if it doesn't have a 50 Gb partition done in 30-60 minutes, something is very wrong. I formatted a 250 Gb partition with resierfs a few days ago with gentoo in literally 5 minutes.

I found out, that my harddrive went pooped on me; hard to tell, finaly took sometime to look it over and it ended up being that; thx for all your support fellahs
