Which Linux Live CD could be used for formating
an already existing Linux OS completely along with GRUB Boot loader?
I am having fedora core and I want to format it.
Please help.

What do you want to format it as? Are you trying to free up space for Windows? And what do you mean by formatting GRUB?

Basically any live CD works for formatting. I usually use GParted Live.

for windows.
Is there any way to do so?
I already tried GPART Live CD.
Window refuses to recognise the Partition.
Please help.

I suugest u first install windows & then fedoras cause if u install windows later then its boot loader might not boot the linux partition.Also if u install windows first then linux then u can format ur hard disk easily & there wont be any boot problem too

Formatting and Resizing EXT3
 

Aloha,
If you need to free up space for the Windows partition and Fedora is in EXT3 format you will have to go thruogh a process of converting it to ext2, resizing and then back to ext3. It is possible to do this without losing data. Here is a how to on just that process

Follow that and you can resize your ext3 partition then create a new windows partition and load windows. Be aware that windows is very finicky about where it gets installed. YMMV

Are you trying to completely remove Linux? In that case shame on you, but anyway, you should first free the space and then resize the windows partition OR create a Fat32 or NTFS partition in the free space and then format it. If you want to remove Linux completely then you must remove Grub too. You will need the Windows CD. Boot with the CD and then choose recovery console and there you must type fixboot.
