Format HD with XP and SUSE onboard

In my wisdom I have loaded Win XP and SUSE 9.3 on my Laptop, same HDD, Different partitions. Now I want to format the HDD to get rid of both OS but it seems that Windows will not Format the drive unless I unmount SUSE.

I am totally new to Linux and would soooooooo love to use this OS but it seems near impossible at this stage as there are still too many issues I am not familiar with. Therefore I will have to re-install Windows untill such time that I have spoken to a Fundi on Linux so that I can first learn the finer detail.

Please help so that I can at least have the whole drive to Windows again. At the moment Windows only have 10Gig of partitioning an SUSE has 17Gig on a 30 Gig HDD.

Can you wipe the Linux partition with a LiveCD then format it as fat32 or ntfs from Windows, or do you require one large partition for windows? If you require one large partition, you could probably use gparted to resize the Windows partition (BACK UP YOUR DATA FIRST, and TEST the backup!).
