format hard drive and add to existing hard drive to extend the capacity in linux

HI Friends,
Thanks for your previous suggestions.
Actually I have a hard drive with linux installed and need to format existing os and add it to another linux machine (samba server) to increase the capacity of storage.
Please give me inputs how I can perform this task as it is on priority me.

Please do the needful.

Regards
Boby

unless you are using LVM's or RAID you can not just "expand" a drive with an other drive.

so simply format, add to fstab, put files on the new drive, add path to samba.
