forgot an innit command syntax, used instead of rebooting

not to long ago someone showed me a command that I can type instead of having to reboot my machine.
Its in slackware 9.1 and had something to do with the rc.whatever something something init1 restart...... damn, cant remember..

Can anyone let me know what it is? I'll have to make not this time. and maybe make an alias or something.

init single for root, singlu user mode.
init 3 - multi user mode without the Xserver
init 5 - all user mode, with X.

just type init 3 at the shell.

Slack's 5 is 4, though.
