Is there anyway I can force an RPM to intall ingnoring any and all error messages?

i am not sure about "all" the messages but heres how u can do it:
rpm -ifvh name.rpm
i.e by using -f option

Usually it's a good idea to heed the warnings though. However, if you are sure you have met all the requirements and the 'warnings' are obviously wrong, then force away

Don't force it

any idea how I fix it?

Uninstall the older one:
rpm -e kopete-0.6.2-1.1mdk OR, the preferred method:
urpme kopete

Then try again.

I will try removing it with the command line, already tried removing it with the Mandrake RPM configuration tool but the newer version still didi not install, gave me the same error messages.

BTW Trillian is working for pretty good for me in wine, it even has sound - its pretty stable unless I strat moving the program window around allot then my system locks up.

So far the CLI commands have worked on 2 different computers, goning to have to remember those, need to make a list now of all the ones I have found so far.
