for vmlinuz + initrd, append CML how to set root=???

I would like run radhat linux on memory(diskless) for testing, but I don't know how to mount root=?
label test
kernel vmlinuz
append initrd=initrd.img toram size=3072 vga=773 root=?????
Could anyone kindly tell me how to set command for kernel?
