i posted approx. a week + ago in regards to a error with the install of Red Hat 9. the responses pointed me in the direction of the md5 checksum of the ISO. i had to redownload the ISO image's on 56krap and then i did a checksum on them. everything checked out and this time i did not delete the ISO's but i did burn them to CD. i am still getting the same error and here is the whole thing that i get when trying to install.

this is asking for the correct boot partition, perhaps something like........mount root=/dev/hda7 ro

I thought maybe it had something to do with that last time i had this trouble, but the reply's i received more or less pointed me towards a bad image or ISO. i guess part of the reason why other's thought that is because it should auto run from the command prompt and install root if the ISO image checks out and is not corrupt. as i am much the newbie in regards to Linux install have no idea lol :) . i will try your advice out and see what happens from there.
thx
Paladin :)
