fontconfig-config 2.4.2-1.2 remove from ubuntu
 

My ubuntu 6.10 box has fontconfig-config 2.4.2-1.2.deb installed,but I want to uninstall it and install fontconfig-config 2.3.2-7ubuntu2.deb


What shall I do now ?

apt-get check -f won't do !
apt-get install -f won't do !
sudo synaptic can't solve the problems.
