Font Problem in Suse 9.2 specifically in GAIM

I have searched these forums for a while as well as googled this, but i am too much of noob to have figured it out. I changed the text size through kde control center and the Gnome control center. I my problem is exclusively (i think?) in GAIM. I thought the gnome control center would fix it since the UI is gtk... but when i look at the menus and the budies the font is still huge.

any help or point in the right direction is appreciated

Have you looked through all the GAIM menus?
From memory the font size (and style) you choose for the chat window (i.e. what you typed) is applied to all of GAIM. You could look into that.

Also, have you tried the GAIM website?

I personally use aMSN, but while it has good functionality, it integrates poorly with kde.

Not sure if this will help you but try this rpm

Available Here

Solved my font problems when running gtk apps in kde

In the main Suse menu it will add a program icon in Applications (at the top) called "GTK styles and fonts", allows you to choose the size and font of gtk apps

thanks for the tips.

It looks better now, but i still cannot directly control the font. I read somewhere about editing some configuration file for gtk, but i think im going to avoid that because ill probably screw something up. ill either get used to it, or in time get more used to linux and try to edit the config file.

thanks again
