From your file manager (konqueror?) drag the folder to the desktop and drop it. A pop-up menu will appear. Choose to Move, Copy, or Link the folder to the desktop.

Hi :)

Right click the folder that you wanted create a shortcut.
and select make link
A new folder is created with a name link to folder with a Green return arrow.
Cut and paste the link to folder in to a desktop.
check the folder by double clicking. hope It will works.

If you find any errors that's probably because of file or folder permission or SElinux settings.

In that case Go back to the original folder try to create a new link (by right click and selecting the make link) for original folder.
Right click on the newly created link to folder and select the properties.
select the permission tab and give the appropriate permission. and cut and paste the newly created link to folder by overwriting the existing link to folder in to a desktop.

good day!
:)
